These two clips show Alan the Hoglet nest building. He would keep me amused for ages as I watched him keeping busy.

He came in during 2011 as close to death as I've seen a hedgehog. It took:

  • Sophie the nurse two hours to pick off the maggots, fly eggs, ticks and fleas
  • Three days hand feeding (because he wasn't strong enough to feed himself)
  • Three weeks TLC in HQ
  • Five weeks with Alan one of our volunteer carers to fatten him up ready for release

He was released October 2011 into a badger free private wood, where we hope he enjoys a long and happy life.

Hope you enjoy!
